About This Dog for Adoption
Buster's ideal home
Buster is an 11-year-old Border Collie with a big heart, a brilliant brain, and a zest for life that defies his age. Friendly, gentle, and loyal, Buster is looking for a calm, loving home where he can enjoy daily adventures and quality time with his people. He thrives with someone around most of the day and would love a secure, private garden (minimum 4ft fencing) where he can chase his ball and explore at his own pace.
Buster would prefer to be the only pet in the home, so he can soak up all the attention. While he’s very sociable and enjoys polite greetings with friendly dogs out on walks, he prefers a peaceful space to relax and recharge at home. Buster can live with children aged 8 and over who are dog-savvy and respectful of his space. He would be happiest in a home without cats or small animals.
He would suit someone home-based or retired, looking for a bright, affectionate companion to share in his golden years. Breed experience is preferred but not essential, as long as the adopter has done their research and is committed to providing him with structure, enrichment, and a loving environment.
Could you be Buster's perfect match?
Buster is affectionate, smart, and full of personality. He greets new people with gentle tail wags and settles beautifully in the home. While he enjoys being near his humans, he’s also content relaxing alone after a walk or play session. He’s fully housetrained and can be left for a few hours at a time with no issues. He has shown no signs of separation anxiety or destructiveness while alone.
At night, Buster sleeps soundly in his own bed in the same room as his foster carers. He settled into his foster home quickly and now enjoys long, lazy lie-ins in the mornings. He’s unfazed by everyday household noises and has adjusted well to the rhythm of home life.
Buster is happiest with a ball in his mouth and will gently nudge it onto your lap in the hope of a game. He walks nicely on lead, has excellent recall (which should be built up gradually in secure areas),and is friendly with dogs he meets while out and about.
Though he’s in his senior years, Buster is still active and full of life. He loves his walks, playtime, and bonding with his people. He has some veterinary needs which will be discussed in full with potential adopters, but they don’t stop him from enjoying every day to the fullest. He also travels well in the car and is always ready for an outing or new adventure.
If you’re looking for a loyal, clever companion who will reward you with affection, fun, and a never-ending game of fetch, Buster could be the perfect match for you.
