About This Dog for Adoption

Loki's ideal home

Loki is a very clever collie, he is 9 years old and has been well trained. Loki would like a home where he can access the garden and get out and about with an active family, who’ll keep his collie mind busy. you’ll see when you read about him, he’s all about adventure!

Loki has a lovely nature with people, He has had many experiences in his life, he knows lots of commands and is happy to engage in training moves for treats, or just play fetch, for as long as you are willing to. He loves to be around his humans, he is used to going to work with his family, spending time around the horses.
He loves to play ball! He has potential to train in flyball, or agility. He has enjoyed training and knows his commands like lie down, sit, stay, paw, wait, Spin, leave it, here (as in come here)
Loki is a very clever dog always wanting to please.

Could you be Loki's perfect match?

We know he is not keen on some busier areas, where there is high traffic, He loves being out in the car or hiking up a fell or by a lake, he adores the beach where he can run.
Loki likes to sit with you in the home having snuggles or often sitting where he can see you, that said he will stay where you put him on his bed when you ask him to and he does like a cooler area to lie in.
Loki enjoys treats, and can get a little excited about taking them, so he is often treated by throwing treats to the floor and giving him the command 'search'. Carrots, chicken and cheese are firm favourites as are gravy bones

He’s fully house trained and lets you know when he needs to go out by pacing at the door.

Penny

  • 8 years old

Penny's ideal home Penny loves toys and will engage in playing fetch with you. Penny will require a secure garden so she has somewhere to play off-lead, although she is good off lead, we would not advise this until a bond with her new adopter has been established. Penny can pull on the lead, so potential adopters need to be mindful of this and consider revisiting loose lead

Border Collie Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Border Collie.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Border Collie Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
