Kara's ideal home

Attention all Collie Lovers, Kara is one not to be missed! She is 7.5 yrs old, and is a true active, intelligent girl! She has lived with another dog. She is very loving and friendly, She enjoys walks, playing fetch, and running around in the garden as well as on long walks. She will require a secure garden so she has somewhere to play off-lead. Kara will need her new family to be passionate about keeping her collie mind stimulated, through enrichment and exercise. We feel that she has so much energy, she would really benefit from an active family, who are happy to share their furniture and give lots of snuggles

Kara is an intelligent, fun, active Collie who will be the perfect companion for someone, she is good with other dogs she meets on walks, she is house trained, she travels well in the car and enjoys walks on the fells here in Cumbria. She is a sociable dog, and would happily learn new activities with her adopters, due to her high energy we feel she’d be suited living with Children who are dog savy and understand when a dog needs to relax and have their own safe space. Kara will remain in her family home until we find a match for her, she is used to being walked daily, well-handled for grooming, she has always been loved and knows home comforts (ie access to the sofa!)

Border Collie Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Border Collie.

View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Border Collie Owners website
Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images
