Forest's ideal home

Fabulous Forest is looking for a new home who want to have an adventure and play buddy! This young lad can live with children aged 10 and over who will give him space when he needs it. He can live with dogs and is happy if they are playful or just want to chill out. Equally, Forest is happy to have just doggy walking friends or visitors. Forest is a smart little cookie who picks up tricks quickly, already knowing ‘sit’ here at the centre. Super keen to learn, he will engage really well in training for a tasty treat! His new family can use this to their advantage, building their bond by teaching him lots of basics and fun stuff. Forest has been toilet trained in the past and has been trying to continue this whilst he has been staying with us but unfortunately hasn’t always managed, so he would need a refresher in his new home. He would need a private garden to refresh his housetraining and give him a place to zoom off lead! Forest may be able to be left alone for up to 1-2 hours once settled in, but this should be introduced slowly once he has had time to get used to his new home and routine and would ideally be after a walk, so he can relax and have a long snooze! Forest will need to meet his adopters multiple times prior to going home so please bear this in mind when applying. Please note that should you be shortlisted, our rehoming process usually takes up to 7 days, and potential adopters would be required to come up to the centre to meet him within 48hrs of being shortlisted.

Could you be Forest's perfect match?

Introducing Forest, the four-year-old Border Collie looking for his fur-ever home! Forest, like many collies, loves to play with toys, especially balls, chasing and swapping them with his handlers. He likes lots of different types of treats and would love to continue learning with his new family. This fabulous boy is looking for a new home.

Border Collie Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Border Collie.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
