About This Dog for Adoption

Poppy Collie's ideal home

Poppy is a 2 year 3-month-old Collie x, she is looking for a home with no other pets and adults only. She is a high energy girl who will need lots of exercise and a private secure garden where she can potter around. Time alone will need to be built slowly and her new owners must be willing to work closely with our behaviour team. Poppy takes time to get to know you and so her new family must be prepared to visit multiple times. Poppy is not a fan of the vets and so needs to be muzzled.

Could you be Poppy Collie's perfect match?

Poppy is a sweet, sensitive girl who finds kennel life quite difficult. The training team are working hard with Poppy to help build her confidence and relationships. Poppy would benefit from experienced owners who have the patience to help her with her training and who would be happy for us to bring Poppy for home visits. Our team are working on muzzle training as she has shown aggression with formal handling. She is a super clever girl and loves her tennis balls, and to play herding games. She will make an amazing companion for someone who is collie mad.

Border Collie Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Border Collie.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Border Collie Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
