About This Dog for Adoption

Cassie's ideal home

Cassie is a beautiful black and white female, 9 month old Border Collie. Cassie is a very high energy girl who will need a home with active adopters who are able to provide her with plenty of mental stimulation, such as herding games and agility, to provide her with breed specific enrichment as well as interesting walks. She may be able to share her new home with the right canine companion, however this will require several meets at the Shoreham centre to ensure Cassie is comfortable with her new friend. Cassie is not suited to live with dogs smaller than she is, so her new buddy would need to be medium sized or larger. Cassie can share her home with secondary school aged children who are comfortable with bouncy, energetic dogs but she is unable to with cats. Cassie can find traffic a bit overwhelming so would prefer her walks to only involve quieter roads while she is building some confidence.

Could you be Cassie's perfect match?

This lovely lively young girl has an affectionate nature and loves to keep busy, she is no couch potato! Cassie loves a ball but fetch should not be her only form of fun, she really needs to exercise her intelligent Collie brain. She has a sensitive side and will benefit from patient adopters with plenty of time to continue with her basic training. Could this smart young pup be the right match for you?

Border Collie Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Border Collie.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Border Collie Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
