About This Dog for Adoption

Lily's ideal home

Lily is a lovely dog who is looking for her forever home, where she can thrive as the only pet. She will benefit from a calm environment and minimal leaving hours initially, allowing her to settle in comfortably. Once she feels at ease, she can gradually adapt to longer periods alone, provided that time is built up at a pace that suits her.

Lily would be best suited to a home without younger children, as she can be a bit uncomfortable with handling. We believe she would do well with children of primary school age who are able to follow instructions and respect her boundaries. A quieter area would be perfect for her, where she doesn't frequently have to engage with other dogs, as she can get a bit frustrated by too many canine interactions.

If you think you can provide Lily with the understanding and loving home she needs, she would be a wonderful addition to your family!

Could you be Lily's perfect match?

Meet Lily, a sweet seven-year-old Collie cross. This adorable girl absolutely thrives on the love and affection of her foster carers, and there’s nothing she enjoys more than a good cuddle.

Lily is an active and playful pup who loves her walks in quiet, peaceful areas. She finds joy in those tranquil moments where she can unwind without the pressures of interacting with other dogs. She can show signs of frustration around other dogs, so any potential adopters will need to provide her with ongoing training to help her learn to manage those feelings.

Lily has a very friendly nature and warms up to everyone she meets, spreading joy wherever she goes. However, she does struggle with being left alone and prefers to stay close to her favourite humans.

Border Collie Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Border Collie.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Border Collie Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
