About This Dog for Adoption
James's ideal home
James has come into our care with very little known about his past and only limited experience of the big wide world. As a result, he can feel very scared and unsure when faced with anything new. James is looking for a patient and understanding home where he can find his paws and discover life at his own pace. He may also need ongoing support with housetraining and with gradually learning how to spend short periods of time on his own.
James could live with children aged 14+ who can respect his worries and give him the time and space he needs to settle into home life.
James has never experienced walking on a lead and currently finds this very frightening. Because of this, he must have his own safe and secure garden with direct access from the house. His new family should be prepared for the possibility that it may take quite some time before he’s ready to enjoy walks. In the meantime, he will benefit from fun games and enrichment in the safety of the garden to help build his confidence.
One of James’ absolute favourite things is spending time with other dogs. This is when his cheeky puppy personality really shines through! Whether he’s zooming around in the sand with his friends or relaxing in a shady spot to watch from the side lines, he’s learning so much about life from his doggy companions. For this reason, James must live with a confident and playful resident dog who can guide him and help him learn how to enjoy being a dog.
Could you be James's perfect match?
James is full of potential and is waiting for the right patient forever family to help guide him through life. We’re beginning to see his playful puppy side shine through, and with time, love, and patience, he’s sure to become a rewarding and loving member of the family.
His future family should be prepared to visit him at the centre a few times before he’s ready to make the move home, helping him build trust and confidence. The resident dog in his new home will need to be either male or a neutered female, as James is still too young to be neutered himself.
