About This Dog for Adoption

Brian's ideal home

Meet Brian! He is a super sweet and gentle 4 month old Collie Crossbreed. We don't know what he his crossed with, but he looks like a Collie with adorable short legs! Brian is looking for a forever home that will dedicate plenty of time to training and getting home out and about for new experiences as most of his life so far has been here at Dogs Trust. He has been doing some great work with the training team and he is proving himself to be a very smart boy! He would love an active adopter that will take him out for daily walks, and perhaps has a secure outdoor space that he can play in during the day. Brian is good at entertaining himself with chew treats and enrichment games, but when he first comes home his adopter should be able to stay with him to help him settle and get used to his new environment. After this, his leaving time can be gradually increased.

Could you be Brian's perfect match?

Brian is a sociable little guy who loves spending time with people! He is super snuggly and affectionate too. Brian could live with children of primary school age and up, as well as other pets as long as proper there are proper introductions and management in the home. Brian is the last of his brothers and sisters to find a forever home, but we have absolutely no doubt that he will make the best family member! His confident, friendly and cuddly personality will really shine when you meet him. If you think that you could be a perfect match for Brian, please complete an adoption application and include him as a 'Favourite' dog. Thank you!

Border Collie Puppy Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Border Collie.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Border Collie Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
