About This Dog for Adoption

Winston's ideal home

Winston and his two brothers Nick and Schmidt are 12 week old Collie Crossbreed puppies currently available for adoption. They are super fluffy and love their treats! They are still gaining some confidence, but with a patient adopter they should come out of their shells really quickly once they arrive at their forever homes. Winston and his brothers can live with other pets if their introductions and interactions are managed in the home, and they can live with children that have been around dogs before and understand they will need their own space once playtime is over! These puppies will grow up to be active dogs who will need plenty of exercise and mental stimulation, so a family that loves outdoor adventures, and has an interest in training will be ideal.

Could you be Winston's perfect match?

Winston, Schmidt and Nick are sweet little boys who just want to be loved and are learning more and more about the world around them here at the Centre. We can't wait for them to start their new lives and experience so much more! Their adopters should be able to be at home with them to begin with while they get settled into their new environments and routines. After that, leaving time will be able to be built up. If you think you could be the pawfect match for one of these brothers, then please submit an adoption application and include Winston as a 'Favourite' dog. Thank you!

Border Collie Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Border Collie.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Border Collie Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
