About This Dog for Adoption

Whisper's ideal home

Whisper is a pretty little six-month-old Border Collie. She is looking for a loving, quiet home with adult owners, but could potentially live with older teens. Whisper will need a home without any other dogs due to her nervous nature but could potentially live with a dog in the future with introductions. She will need patient and understanding adopters who will help build her confidence in the home, and out on walks using positive reward training. Whisper may have never lived in a home before so home life will be new to her. Time left alone will need to be built up gradually once she is settled, and she will need help with things like housetraining. Although she can be a little shy at first, it doesn’t take Whisper long to come over for a gentle fuss and a tasty treat. Once she has built a bond with you, she loves a game of fetch and gentle fuss and cuddles.

Could you be Whisper's perfect match?

Whisper is a very sweet girl, she loves her toys, treats and fuss once she knows you. She enjoys a game of fetch and will also play alone with her favourite toys. Whisper loves to settle down for a snooze in her comfy bed, after she’s enjoyed some play time or a quiet walk. She will need rural walks while working on her confidence and may need help with gaining confidence for car travel. Whisper loves her food; and won’t leave any crumb behind! She loves feed puzzles, figuring out how to get all the tasty treats. She loves to train and would continue to benefit from classes at Dog School. Whisper is a lovely, cuddly girl with great potential!

Border Collie Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Border Collie.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Border Collie Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
