Alfie

2 weeks

Alfie's ideal home

Alfie is a stunning five-year-old Sprollie looking for a loving home with adult adopters. He is looking to be the only dog in the home, and a home without cats or small furries. We have no history of him around livestock. He is housetrained and happy to be left alone for a few hours if that time is built up gradually. Alfie would best suit a quiet home environment and rural walks. Experience of the breed would be beneficial.

Could you be Alfie's perfect match?

Alfie loves to play with toys and cannot wait to have a game of fetch with you. He is instantly friendly with new people, happy to meet and greet and then off to play. Alfie is affectionate on his terms; he adores you being there and having your company. Here at the rehoming centre, he enjoys chilling in a quiet office while people catch up with some admin. Alfie knows some basic training, sit, paw, and he responds to his name. Alfie would best suit quieter walks as he would rather avoid other dogs, he can walk around them, and have them close by, he just appreciates his personal space. He is not yet confident with getting in the car, and this is a work-in-progress. He loves to go for long walks, he is a keen walker and can be strong on his lead. He likes to dip his paws in water and go for a bit of a paddle, he finds playing fetch in water is so much fun!

Border Collie Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Border Collie.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
