About This Dog for Adoption

Hope's ideal home

Hope is a fab six-month-old Collie cross looking for a loving home. She could share her home with children as young as eleven. She would best suit a home as the only dog and have doggy pals to socialise with when out and about. She has no history of living with cats, small furries, or livestock. She will need a home and her walks to be away from busy roads as she is worried by and will chase traffic. Hope is happy to travel in the car. She is pretty much housetrained. Experience of the breed would be beneficial.

Could you be Hope's perfect match?

Hope is sweet and loving, and she likes to be busy and on-the-go. She loves her toys and playing ball. She enjoys a sandpit to dig in, and as expected with a puppy she likes to chew so will therefore need suitable things to chew. Hope is a clever girl which means that she needs mental stimulation as well as physical exercise. She loves to learn new things with positive reward training. She knows a sit, stay, down, and a leave already and she would love to learn more. Scent games are great for engaging the brain! Hope has been making friends with a few dogs, and she meets and greets politely.

Border Collie Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Border Collie.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Border Collie Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
