About This Dog for Adoption

Rubble's ideal home

Rubble is a young pup looking for fun and dedicated owners, who can meet his needs both physically and mentally. He could live with children of 11+ that are confident around bouncy dogs. He would be best as the only dog currently but have opportunities to meet and play with dogs on walks. We have no history of him around cats, small furries or livestock. He will need a home that is keen to continue his training, including housetraining and helping him learn to settle. Experience of Huntaways would be beneficial.

Could you be Rubble's perfect match?

Rubble is a smart cookie but still has lots to learn. He wants to be involved in everything and finds switching off a little challenging. He is affectionate when his needs have been met and he is calm. He enjoys his walks and greets new people and dogs well. He is getting there with his basic training and he already knows his name, sit and down but would really benefit from a home that is keen to get him involved in training classes or doggy sports. He is a little unsure of car travel at the moment so nice walks from the home would be best until he has grown in confidence.

Border Collie Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Border Collie.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Border Collie Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
