Wilma

Wilma's ideal home

Wilma is looking for a home in a low traffic area, with active owners who will take her for lovely walks, play lots of fun games and engage in lots of positive training fun with her. She will absolutely thrive in an environment where she can learn lots of new things to help with her confidence and keep her stimulated and happy. She will need her own secure garden with high fences as she can jump quite high! Wilma can be worried by bouncy, high-energy dogs and likes to take her time and have space around other dogs. She would like to be the only dog in her home and cannot live with small furries or cats. She would benefit from slow introductions to calm doggy friends to spend time on walks with. Wilma would prefer to have company at home for the majority of the time but could be left on her own if her leaving time is built up gradually in a positive way. Willow will need to meet her adopters multiple times before going home. She will need visits from our behaviour team once she goes home so adopters will need to live within 45 minutes driving distance from the Canterbury Rehoming Centre so please bear this in mind prior to applying for her.

Could you be Wilma's perfect match?

Wilma is a sweet, playful and very clever 1 year old Collie. She can be a little shy, but she approaches new people with a waggy tail and with some gentle encouragement and maybe a treat or two, she will be your best buddy in no time! Willow can find lots of handling a little overwhelming, so taking her time is key to her building trust with you. Wilma loves her food and enjoys tasty treats and will do some tricks to get them. She has so much potential for learning and enjoys learning new things in her training sessions! She is very curious and loves to explore new places and does so with her nose, sniffing everything with her tail wagging away. She will make a fun, playful addition to your home.

If Wilma sounds like your perfect match, please get in contact to express an interest. Please note if you rent your property, you must be able to provide written permission from your landlord to keep a dog to complete the rehome process. Please have your rental permission document ready once you have submitted your application to avoid delays, as it will be required early on in the rehoming process if you are shortlisted. Due to expected high levels of interest you will only hear back from us if we are able to proceed with your application. We will conduct a rehoming interview with successful applicants and home visit via video. Access to emails and video technology will be essential for this process.
