About This Dog for Adoption

Jasper's ideal home

If you are after a loyal older gent with a cheeky spark, Jasper could be your perfect match. At 11 years old, this Collie cross still enjoys his walks, a gentle play session and the company of people he knows well. Jasper is looking for a calm, adult-only home where life moves at a quieter pace and his new family will be understanding of his needs and happy to give him the space he sometimes asks for.

He would love a private garden to potter in and ideally a home in a more rural setting, away from heavy traffic and noisy lorries. Jasper travels on the back seat of a car and is relaxed around traffic, though he may need a little help getting in and out.

Could you be Jasper's perfect match?

Jasper has lots of character and will thrive with owners who are home most of the time and enjoy being involved in his training. He is not used to being left so this will need to be built up gradually once he is settled in his new home. He is not a cuddly lap dog but he does enjoy gentle strokes and building up trust at his own pace. Multiple visits will be needed at the centre so that Jasper has time to bond before heading home.

He would like to be the only pet in the home, though he is happy walking alongside doggy friends out and about. He is housetrained, knows some basics like sit, down, paw and wait and takes his treats gently.

If you are looking for a companion who will bring plenty of personality and loyalty into your life, Jasper could be the boy for you.

Border Collie Puppy Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Border Collie.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Border Collie Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
