Fern's ideal home

Fern is a fabulous 2 year old Collie x Labrador who is very smart and loving. She can be worried by unfamiliar people at first, but once she learns to trust you, she soon warms up. Fern is super affectionate, and she loves treats or toys! Fern knows a ton of tricks already - sit, speak, roll over, paw, spin to name a few! So she'd love to add to her impressive list and an active home would be perfect. She can share her home with other dogs, but would prefer an adult only home due to her reactivity to strangers.

Could you be Fern's perfect match?

Fern requires access directly in to her own and private garden where she can safely potter and play. She absolutely loves a paddling pool and playing with toys or tennis balls. This wee cutie can be left home alone for around 5-6 hours a day, as long as this is built up gradually. Animal Welfare licence number is AWE02, as licenced by Glasgow City Council.

Border Collie Puppy Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Border Collie.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Border Collie Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images
