About This Dog for Adoption

Koda's ideal home

Gorgeous, goofy Koda is patiently waiting for his forever family! He’s a friendly boy and so while we don’t have any history for him around children he should be happy living with any kids of secondary school age, as long as they are comfortable being around a larger, playful dog. Koda has mixed well with other dogs here in centre and could potentially live with another dog that will be tolerant with his playful behaviours. Any match would be subject to a mix in centre prior to adoption.

Could you be Koda's perfect match?

Koda is a 1yr old Rottie Cross who was sadly found as a stray. Despite this he is a tremendous character who has enjoyed spending time with our staff, especially when play or walks are involved! As we have no history for Koda he would benefit from a gradual introduction to home life. This includes housetraining, and time left alone, which will be best built up from scratch. Travel is currently an unknown quantity, but Koda shows really positive associations in and around the car, and happily jumps in, so trips out might well be on the cards! If you’re looking for a playful pooch then Koda might be your perfect match, as he’ll be very happy with a rope toy and some people or another dog to play with!

Border Collie Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Border Collie.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Border Collie Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
