Rex's ideal home
Rex will need to go to an adult only home with people who preferably have Collie experience, but if no experience, knowledge of the breed is essential. Adopters must be willing to work on his training, which will be demonstrated here at the centre. His new family will need to be patient whilst he settles in and confident to continue his training. He will need his own large private secure garden where he can be off lead and play with his tennis balls all day long. Due to his high chase drive around traffic, we are looking for a rural/semi-rural home for him where he won't have to be worried by vehicles and he can enjoy nice quiet walks as he loves to be on the go. The home will need to be non-open plan as he should not meet people at the front door and there should be minimal visitors. Rex will also need to be the only pet in the home and will need minimal leaving hours initially. Rex will need multiple meets at the centre before going home so that he feels comfortable with you.

Lovely Rex is a fantastic 2-year-old Border Collie with loads of potential in the right home that is committed to his ongoing training. Typical of the breed, Rex is super clever and loves to learn new things and is very food motivated - due to his young age and high energy, an active home that would enjoy a bit of a project to train and take on adventures would be ideal. Rex can be worried by new people and take a while to trust you, but once he does, you'll be lucky enough to be in his little club and he will happily leap at you for fuss and attention and get all wriggly! Rex's favourite thing in the world are his toys, particularly tennis balls and he could play with them for hours - he will never fail to keep you busy and put a smile on your face. Rex can be worried and reactive by some dogs, but we have done loads of work on this here at the centre and he can now walk past most dogs calmly and even say hello and go off-lead with some to chase and play! Rex is a super dog who has become a firm favourite with his friends here at the centre and will make a cracking pet.
