About This Dog

Jake's ideal home

Jake is a one-year-old Collie cross with a big heart! This bright, bouncy boy is looking for a semi-rural home in a quieter residential or small town setting, ideally with a secure garden where he can play, build confidence and continue his house training. He can find busy roads and passing cars overwhelming, so he would thrive somewhere with peaceful walking routes. Jake would suit a multi-carer household where someone is around for most of the day, as he can feel worried when left alone and will need leaving hours slowly built up. Because of his excitable nature and mouthing behaviours, he would be best matched to an adult only home who are prepared to carefully manage this. With the right socialisation, Jake may enjoy walks with fellow canine friends, especially dogs who can match his playful energy. He would also be able to deal with visitors to the home, after he has settled, as he does love people. Most importantly, Jake will need patient adopters who are willing to take on a big dog who is still developing and learning about the world.

Could you be Jake's perfect match?

Handsome Jake is a very sweet boy who loves life and cuddles! He adores human company and will happily jump up and demand fuss, showing off his wiggly, happy body language. He walks nicely on the lead and, as a clever and foody boy, he is more than ready to channel his energy into fun training and new skills. Although some parts of the world still feel a little big and overwhelming to him and he can be unsure of what to do with all those feelings, he looks to his handler for reassurance and is eager to learn as his confidence grows. Bring him into your life and you’ll gain a loyal shadow who wants to share every moment, from gentle downtime to future countryside adventures. For adopters ready to nurture a young dog into confidence, Jake can offer fun, affection and companionship!
