JJ's ideal home

JJ is a handsome 1 year old Collie who came into our care as a stray, so we don’t know much about his past. What we do know is that beneath his worries is a sweet boy who is slowly starting to come out of his shell. JJ can be a bit of a worry wart when faced with new people or situations, but with patience and kindness his confidence is beginning to grow. One of the best ways to make friends with him is through play, he absolutely loves his toys, and a good game is a great way to build a bond with him.

Because JJ arrived as a stray, he may need some support with the basics such as housetraining. Any time spent being left alone will also need to be built up gradually so he can learn that being on his own is safe and nothing to worry about. JJ is currently worried by other dogs, so he is looking for a home where he can be the only pet while he continues to build his confidence. He would also need a home without children, where things are calm and predictable and he can settle at his own pace. He can be sensitive to more intense handling, but he coped really well with us when we took things slowly, offered lots of reassurance, and rewarded him with a few well earned biscuits.
