About This Dog for Adoption
Eifer's ideal home
Eifer is a gentle, sensitive girl who will truly thrive in an active but peaceful home with a calm, reassuring atmosphere. She prefers quieter environments and takes her time to understand new sounds or movements — especially things like loud noises or activity on stairs. With patience and kindness, she shows lovely, thoughtful behaviours as she works things out.
She would be well-suited to living with secondary‑school–aged children and above who can help her feel safe and supported.
A secure, private garden will give Eifer the perfect space to unwind, explore, and enjoy time off lead at her own pace.
Eifer is naturally soft‑natured and can show low confidence when faced with new experiences or close handling. She’s already making wonderful progress through gentle confidence‑building sessions, and with continued positive experiences at home, she’ll continue to grow. We’ll be on hand to guide and support her adopters to help her settle smoothly.
Eifer may also be able to live with another calm, friendly dog, as long as initial meets go well.
With the right environment and a patient, loving family, Eifer has every chance to blossom into a truly devoted companion.
Could you be Eifer's perfect match?
Eifer is a four‑year‑old Border Collie with a beautifully gentle, affectionate nature. She adores human company and forms strong bonds with the people she trusts, often choosing to sit closely beside them for comfort and reassurance.
She is currently in a foster home, where she is calm, polite, and settles wonderfully. She loves relaxing with her foster family and is a delightful companion. Out on walks, she is generally a lovely loose‑lead walker — with the occasional joyful burst of excitement at the start! She enjoys using her nose and would really benefit from fun scent‑based enrichment activities.
Eifer is fully housetrained. Her foster carers report just one accident on her very first day, and since then, she has been consistently clean, happily taking herself into the garden when she needs to go.
While Eifer hasn’t been left alone during the day yet, she sleeps downstairs overnight on her own. She may give a small whimper for a short moment, but quickly settles herself and sleeps through until morning. She will need adopters who can build up her time alone gradually and be home for most of the day to begin with.
Eifer also travels comfortably in the car and will hop into the back seat on her own, making adventures out and about nice and easy.
