About This Dog for Adoption

Gus's ideal home

Super sweet lad Gus is a 9 and a half year old Collie cross who loves exploring the great outdoors. There is only one thing he likes better than a sniffy adventure and that is a game of fetch. He would play fetch with his tennis ball all day if he could, and does need his new family to let him know when playtime is over. He enjoys a gentle fuss, face and back scratches are his favourite and he will nudge you for more if you stop too soon. This little guy loves making funny faces and will make a lovely companion for his new family.

Could you be Gus's perfect match?

Gus is looking for a home with loving and active adopters who can take him on sniffy adventures, who will take the time to help him settle in and give him all the love and attention he deserves. He can live with older primary school children who understand that he is an older guy, and can play with him nicely and will give him space to rest when he needs. Gus would like all of his adopter’s attention to himself so would like to be the only pet in the home, although he could have polite and calm walking buddies. Gus is a clever boy and has some training under his belt, he does a lovely “sit”, “paw”, “down” and knows his name. He is a very clever but busy boy and gets distracted easily so could engage in training in short, sweet sessions with the help of a tasty treat. He is looking for a home with a private, secure garden for him to potter about and play in. Gus can settle in the home, especially with toys and enrichment to keep him busy, so could be left for up to 2-4 hours, this would need to be built up slowly once he has had time to settle in. Gus will need to meet his adopters a few times prior to going home so please bear this in mind when applying. Please note that should you be shortlisted, our rehoming process usually takes up to 7 days, and potential adopters would be required to come up to the centre to meet him within 48hrs of being shortlisted.
