About This Dog for Adoption

Sonny's ideal home

Sonny is a gorgeous Collie X Lab with the most beautiful face you've ever seen. He's a happy-go-lucky boy, but he can get a little bit worried in new situations so may need a bit of help building his confidence. He loves his dog friends so may be able to live with another good-natured dog in the home, pending a successful meet here at the center. Sonny will be looking for a home where all children are of older secondary school age, just as he can find things a bit scary. The way to our Sonny's heart is by butt scratches, cuddles and a gentle touch.

Could you be Sonny's perfect match?

Sonny is a very sweet boy that loves nothing more than a good fuss from his people. He can be a little wary of new people at first but very quickly comes out of his shell, but hes fabulous with dogs and enjoys a good play. Sonny settles wonderfully in his bed and is an incredibly gentle soul. He is slowly learning what toys are and how to play with them - although a squeaker is sometimes a little bit scary! He has been left alone before, but this may need building up gradually as he settles into his new forever home.

Border Collie Puppy Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Border Collie.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Border Collie Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
