About This Dog for Adoption

Fly's ideal home

Hi I’m Fly, I would love to be your forever collie companion. I really want to be part of the family and find someone who wants to sit and watch TV in the evenings, yes I know, its one of many talents that make me super fly! I love to go on long walks and adventures. I can be left alone once I’m settled, although I would prefer to be with you. Have you got a secure garden I can play in? I like to do a zoomie every now and then too. You should also know I just love rubbing my face on the rug or carpet!

Could you be Fly's perfect match?

I like walking by the river or lakes, as I said I have some talents, I know Sit, Lie down, Stay and I have good recall (although the guys at Dogs Trust advise you build a bond with me before letting me off lead). I’m not keen on loud noises and things like the hoover make me want to hide away and watch TV! If asked about toysm, I’d have to say I quite like rope toy, but I’m not overly fussed, I’d rather have your attention and time. I’m housetrained and will be staying with my PAWrents until it’s time to be adopted. I know what it is like to be loved and cared for, so I am looking for the best possible match.

Border Collie Puppy Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Border Collie.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Border Collie Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
