About This Dog for Adoption

Dixie's ideal home

Dixie is our stunning 4 year old Blue merle Border Collie, who is looking for a foster home with the view to adopting her. Dixie is awaiting a medical procedure which means she is not quite ready to be adopted, so will be looking for a foster home which is local to our Shoreham centre BN43 5LT. This wonderful girl has lots of energy and will benefit hugely from a family who is up for keeping her brain busy with fun activities such as herding games, trick training or agility. She will need a home where any leaving times can be built up slowly while she settles in. Dixie's ideal home is a rural area or quiet outskirts of town, she will need access to secure enclosed areas for off lead time, such as hired dog fields, as she has a very high prey drive and does not have currently have a recall. Dixie may be able to share her home with another dog, pending several meets at the Shoreham centre, but she is unable to live with other types of animals. Dixie is able to live with children over 12 years old, who are gentle and understanding of dogs.

Could you be Dixie's perfect match?

Dixie is a very energetic young Collie who will need active adopters with plenty of time to provide her with long interesting walks and fun games to keep her mind busy. She is gentle and affectionate but can find some interactions a little over whelming so a gentle approach is best for her. Dixie hasn't had the ideal start in life and would love a home with adopters who will embrace her Collieness, by providing breed specific enrichment and a ball game or two. Dixie will make a wonderful addition to the right family, please fill out an adoption application if you have a Collie shaped hole in your heart, if you have applied to adopt or foster so far and think you can offer Dixie the home she needs please get in touch on ].

Millie's ideal home Millie can live with children of high school age but will need to be the only pet at home due to her lack of exposure to other dogs, though she is learning to walk nearby them. We believe she is house trained but we don't know if she is used to spending time alone so would advise someone is with her most of the day whilst she settles in, with solo time
