About This Dog for Adoption

Arlo's ideal home

Arlo can live with children aged 8 and over, if they are confident and comfortable around bigger, boisterous dogs. Arlo can get very excited around dogs but may be able to live with a playful and tolerant dog, pending successful meets at the centre. If they are female, they will need to be neutered. Arlo will need an active home who are wanting to continue his ongoing training and confidence building. Once settled, Arlo could be left for up to 2 hours initially and any longer would have to be built up slowly overtime. He cannot live with cats but could live with small furries if kept separate.

Could you be Arlo's perfect match?

This ball of energy and cuteness is Arlo, our 1-year-old Collie X SBT who has a whole lot of character and a whole lot of love to give to his forever family. Arlo loves people and showing off his tricks for a tasty treat or two! When he is not wrestling his doggy friends or going out on an adventure, he loves nothing more than relaxing in the sunshine and then a quick dip in one of our paddling pools.

Border Collie Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Border Collie.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Border Collie Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
