Ramble

Description

Ramble's ideal home

Ramble is a 3 year old border collie that has come into our care as an unclaimed stray. He is looking for a pet free, quiet home in a rural location where any children in the household are of secondary school age. Ramble currently finds the outside world really quite overwhelming so would like a home where he has access to a large, secure garden where he can run, play and feel safe while his outdoors confidence can grow at his own pace. Ramble will need his leaving hours introduced slowly to him at a pace he is comfortable with. Due to Ramble's herding instinct, he will need to be kept on a lead when in public areas. If you rent your property, please ensure you have written permission from your landlord before applying for a dog.

Could you be Ramble's perfect match?

Ramble is initially quite a shy, sensitive little lad who benefits from gentle handling and reassurance with new things introduced at his own pace. He is very friendly towards his carers and enjoys being close to them. Ramble is familiar with his basic commands and is proving to be housetrained during a stay in foster. Ramble is looking for patient and kind adopters who will help build his confidence around the things that he currently finds scary and who will take things at his own pace and in return Ramble will provide his lucky adopter with a faithful companionship and show them endless love and affection. Please note that you won't be applying for a specific dog, but you can tell us what type of dog you're looking for. You can also add up to four favourites to tour application to give us an idea of the dogs you like, so we can consider you for similar dogs. Once you've submitted your application, we can't change or update your favourites. Adding a dog to your application is not a reservation but a guide for us to find you a match.

Border Collie Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Border Collie.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 6 months, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
