Billy 2's ideal home
Billy is a ten-month-old Bernese Mountain Dog cross Collie looking for a loving home. He could potentially share his home with another dog that would be happy with Billy’s boisterous, playful nature and size. He would benefit from having dogs to socialise with when out and about. Billy has experience with cats, and he will chase to play with no malice; if Billy was to share his home with a cat, the cat would need to be dog savvy. He has history of being okay around livestock. Billy is instantly friendly around new people and excited to meet them. He could share his home with secondary school aged children. Previously free roaming on a large estate, he has never lived in a house before so this will be a brand-new world for him. He will need his adopters to help him build confidence in new environments and with new situations. Using positive reward training he will need to start his housetraining. He adores human company and any time left alone will need to be built up gradually. Billy will thrive in a home with adopters who have lots of time to spend with him.

Billy is a big, young, and bouncy dog full of energy and fun. He would love to join you on a hike and have long, sniffy walks in nature. Generally, he walks nicely on his lead, and he can be strong at times when something of interest catches his eye or nose, like another dog to meet and greet, or a cat. He is not used to walking on his lead and harness so will need you to help him build confidence with this. Billy would best suit quiet, rural walks initially and then when he is happy, you can build up to busier locations. Billy loves the attention; he is affectionate and adores a fuss. Billy likes high-value treats like cheese or chicken and he knows a ‘sit’ so far and would enjoy and benefit from learning his basic training.
