Whistle is a handsome young 8-month-old Collie who is searching for a patient and understanding family to call his own. He is a sensitive young boy who finds unfamiliar people and/or places a little daunting. Whistle will therefore thrive in a quiet home environment with adopters who are committed to helping him build his confidence up, through positive training and gentle encouragement. He’d be happiest in an adult only home, although he could live with sensible older children of secondary school age. He is also looking for a family where someone is around for much of the day, as he enjoys companionship and can become unsettled when left alone.

Whistle enjoys meeting new friends and may benefit from sharing his home with a confident canine companion, who can help show him that the world isn't such a scary place! While this lovely lad can be shy when meeting new people, he has already made fantastic progress during his time in our care and is eager to continue his confidence-building journey with his new family. Watching him grow in confidence and come out of his shell will be incredibly rewarding for the lucky family who adopts him. Whistle is also looking for a home that can support his ongoing medical needs. He has a congenital kidney condition that is successfully managed with a specialist renal diet and daily medication, allowing him to enjoy a happy and comfortable life. His condition will require lifelong treatment and regular veterinary care, but with the right support, Whistle has every opportunity to continue thriving in a loving home. Our vet team is happy to discuss this in more detail prior to adoption.
