About This Dog

Wombat's ideal home

Wonderful Wombat is a smart 2 year old boy who loves a snack and certainly loves a snuggle. He is active, busy and eager for adventure, with a couple of tricks in his bag already. He knows how to sit and drop and he'll do this for a snack or for a ball thrown his way! Wombat lives life lead by his nose - sniffing out all of the interesting things on shelves, in bushes and in the long grass too, so he longs for a person to take him out to sniff all of the new things! When he is done sniffing he loves a long nap and a good snuggle with his favourite humans.

Could you be Wombat's perfect match?

Wombat is looking for a home with loving and active adopters who can take him on sniffy adventures, who will have the time to help him settle in and give him all the love and attention he deserves. He is a real sweetheart but does need help building confidence, so could live with older secondary school children who understand when he needs space and give him space to rest when he needs. Wombat is not quite fully confident around other dogs and would like to be the only dog in his home, but with gentle introductions, could have calm walking friends once he has settled into the home. He has a little training under his belt, but his active mind would benefit from engaging in training in short, sweet sessions with the help of a tasty treat to keep him mentally stimulated as well as physically... he is a smart Collie after all! He would like a home with a private or communal garden to have a potter around and play in. Wombat would need any leaving time to be built up slowly once he has had time to settle into his new home. Wombat will need to meet his adopters a few times prior to going home so please bear this in mind when applying. Please note that should you be shortlisted, our rehoming process usually takes up to 7 days, and potential adopters would be required to come up to the centre to meet him within 48hrs of being shortlisted.
