About This Dog for Adoption

Bella's ideal home

Bella is a lovely 10 year old Collie cross who is looking for her forever retirement home with her best friend, Codie. They have lived together in a loving home for the past 7 years and share a very strong bond. They are seeking a new home through no fault of their own and would love to stay together! Bella is the more sensitive of the two and can be a little nervous in certain situations, so she would benefit from a calm, understanding home. She has been around children but hasn’t lived with them, so she could live with sensible children aged 8+. She can be left for a few hours with a radio on for comfort, although this may need to be built up again after moving into a new environment. Bella can be reactive to dogs other than Codie, so quieter walking areas would suit her best. She travels well in the car and knows sit, lie down, and give paw/high five. Bella is a gentle girl who would thrive in a peaceful home where she can enjoy her golden years with Codie by her side.

Could you be Bella's perfect match?

This dog is currently being rehomed under our Homestay scheme. Under this scheme, the dog stays with their current owner until the point of adoption, when ownership transfers briefly to Dogs Trust and then to the new adopters. The benefits of Homestay for a dog are that it minimises disruption and prevents the dog having to come into kennels, however there is the potential the owner may pull out of the scheme prior to adoption. We understand the upset this may cause to potential adopters, and we work closely with owners to minimise the likelihood of this. However, it remains a possibility, and should this occur, Dogs Trust will prioritise finding adopters an alternative suitable dog.
