About This Puppy
This sale is not an easy one for us at all, this is Axel the 7 month old border collie pup. Originally bought from a breeder in wales. The reason we have to look at selling is due to his herding instinct being so strong that my cat is struggling and has been since axel hit the 6 month hormonal stage of life. We recently found out that my cat has a heart murmur and we have to think of what is a suitable and a good life for both pup and cat and we can’t be selfish.I have owned border collies before and this time we just are not enough for him.
Axel has been through puppy classes for the past few months from 12 weeks old he knows all his basics, sit, paw, up, down, spin. He’s still trying hard with his loose lead walking but loves to pull like a train, as I would say a typical bordie pup. He loves a ball or rope toys he can shread apart. He’s very good at puzzle feeders and loves to follow the people he loves most around. Axel can be super affectionate and loves to snuggle up on the sofa especially of an evening time, he does also sometimes love a cuddle on the bed.
Axel can be left for good periods of time without having accidents in the house as he picked up toilet training very quickly. Axel is very friendly with strangers and other dogs and is still working on his recall as sometimes he gets too excited and doesn’t always listen to his name in those moments. Axel is still working on crate training as he can feel restricted with the crate door closed, we tend to leave it open to make him feel comfortable.
We are finding that we are struggling to give axel our full attention as he’s getting older due to two of my children having additional needs, sometimes these additional needs do frighten axel and make him overstimulated which is unfair on him and we don’t want this to impact the life he could have. My children love him dearly although this isn’t enough for him he deserves so much more.
Axel has been to paws at the junction for dip and dive and although nervous of water he did get in and had the best time. He truely gives anything a good try, I love that he loves exploring the world.
We are looking for someone who can give axel more than what we can, he does require a lot of attention due to the breed And is constantly on the go. Axel needs someone who can give him the time and energy burn that he needs to thrive. We think he’d gel very well on farm or country land but we would be willing to also look at city life if we believe you could be a good fit.
Axel is microchipped, and up to date with his flea and worm
Axel would come with all his leads, his harness, his toys, his crate, his bed and his special blankie, he also has a feeding area that comes with bowls and somewhere to store his toys for this reason we are setting the price at £700 but happy to look at offers.
We really want him to have the best life he can with a loving and caring home who has all the time in the world for him.
