About This Dog for Adoption

Mr Pickles's ideal home

Mr Pickles is a gorgeous 13 year old boy who loves to play with his ball and get out and about. As a civilised gentleman, he is looking to be the only pet in the home and live with secondary school aged children, if any. Mr Pickles is a total sweetheart who is a joy to have around in the home and he would be comfortable being left home alone for 4-5 hours a day.

Could you be Mr Pickles's perfect match?

This gentle soul can be reactive when he sees another dog out on his walks, so would prefer to have access to quieter places to go for walks. He would also require access to his own secure private garden. This senior citizen still has a spring in his step and loves to socialise - he is going to make a fabulous addition to a loving family. As an older fella, he does have some arthritis in his joints which he receives daily medication for. Our veterinary team will happily discuss this in more detail with his family prior to adoption.
Animal Welfare licence number is AWE02, as licenced by Glasgow City Council.

Border Collie Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Border Collie.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Border Collie Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
