Sprout

6 months

Sprout's ideal home

Sprout is a sweet 2 year old Border Collie who is a total smarty pants, looking for a family who enjoy training and could work with him to reach his full potential! Sprout would like to have direct access to a private garden with a 5ft fence so he has a space of his own. Sprout . He is able to live with children over the age of 14. Super Sprout is able to socialise with other dogs but at the moment, he would love a home where he is the only dog, so he can benefit from all of the attention. This sensitive sweetheart isn't a big fan of travelling in the car but has improved with his training at the centre, but will be looking to continue this in his new home.

Could you be Sprout's perfect match?

Sprout is a wonderful and lively fella who is sweet and affectionate and he loves to play with his toys! He is a typical collie who is full of beans and always on the go! Sprout can be sensitive to loud noises and traffic so would be best suited to a quieter home environment. Sprout has been destructive in previous homes so he would need a family who can give him an outlet for this behaviour and the mental stimulation he requires to keep him from getting too bored, as he has a brain to rival Einstein! He'd also like to have his own safe spaces and would benefit from someone who is around for most of the day to help him settle. He will make a wonderful companion for the right family who are happy to continue helping him to smash his training! Sprout has been diagnosed with mild hip dysplasia so he wouldn't be looking to have a career in munro bagging or agility but would be well suited to trick-training or man-trailing!

Border Collie Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Border Collie.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
