Harlow's ideal home
Harlow is a handsome 3yr old Border Collie and he's completely true to his breed traits, so potential adopters must research and understand what this means. He will need patient and resilient adopters who are in it for the long haul. The key to opening his true personality is space, time, and patience, so by committing to multiple visits you'll actually help him build his trust in you much sooner. You'll need to be a true Collie lover who fully understands their breed traits and can offer an environment which will complement these. He needs a calm and predictable home with adults only and no other pets. He's making progress with his doggy interactions but there is still work to do here. A secure garden with no neighbouring dogs is vital as he must have his own space for off-lead play. Due to the need for multiple visits, and the fact he doesn't enjoy travelling long distances, his home must be within a 1hr drive of the Leeds rehoming centre.

He is very shy of new people and situations. He doesn't like noise or hustle and bustle, and he seems to be lacking in confidence generally. All that said, our team have been working wonders with him and he is making progress in all areas so it's time to start transitioning him to a forever home. Potential adopters will need to be prepared to make many visits to the centre to build a strong relationship with him. This will be well worth it though as once he has bonded with you, he's actually a fun, very playful and super smart dog. He loves his toys (obsessively like any true Collie!) and will play fetch literally all day! He's also started showing a more snuggly affectionate side to one of his more trusted handlers, so we feel there is much more he has to offer if he's given the right chance to prove himself. So, if you are a lover of all things Collie and are looking for a very rewarding project then Harlow would be right up your street. He's proven that in the right hands he can become a very loyal, loving, and super smart companion with so much more to offer besides.
