About This Dog

Toby's ideal home

Toby can live with children over 16 and will need to be the only dog. He can be left by himself for two or three hours once settled and is house trained.

Could you be Toby's perfect match?

Toby is a sweet boy who had a rocky start to life after being illegal smuggled in to the UK from Eastern Europe. He made his way to us after a quarantine period and was subsequently rehomed twice. He's back with us again and it's easy to understand why a kennel environment is not his favourite place. He's a friendly boy if you take things slowly with him, but he will panic if swamped by people. Toby loves long walks and is well behaved on his lead, and he loves to take plenty time to sniff about and see what's been happening. One of his favourite things is sunbathing and he adores the beach, just not the sea! Toby is not a fan of wildlife and will need to be kept on lead in woodland etc, as he has a very high prey drive. He's affectionate and likes to snuggle on the sofa when he's comfortable He was previously living with another dog but there was a lot of conflict between the two and this is why he was returned to our care. So that he doesn't find himself in that situation again, we will be rehoming him as an only dog. He has interacted nicely with some dogs at the centre, and he'd probably like some nice walking pals at home, once his new family have got to know him. Food is Toby's biggest motivator and it's a great way to build a bond with him, but he has helped himself to things on the counter before now!
