Monty's ideal home
Gorgeous Monty is a four-year-old StBernard cross Collie. Mony is looking for adopters with patience and understanding as he is a shy boy needing a calm environment, giving him the time to builds bonds. He is looking to be the only dog in the home. He has no history of living with cats, small furries, or livestock. He could share his home with teenage children who can understand his nervous nature, give him space and respect his boundaries. Monty is looking for a quiet home environment, and access to rural walks away from the crowds. Monty is housetrained and he is used to car travel. Once settled he is okay to be left alone for a few hours at a time.

Monty has been doing fab in his foster home; In a short space of time, his foster carers have given him the space and choice to come up to them when he is ready, and although hand-shy at first, short, gentle fuss, a chin tickle, soon turns into Monty enjoying a fuss, belly rubs, and being close to his trusted people. Monty loves to have a game of ball with you. He adores his soft and squeaky toys. He quite likes chicken as a treat and he may show you his sit, down, and wait. Monty appreciates the peace and quiet; he’s nervous of loud noises like doors slamming, and fireworks. He enjoys his walks in quiet, rural locations away from the crowds. Monty is selective with his doggy pals, he will mostly ignore other dogs, if they bark at him, he’ll have a bark back, and some he is happy to walk alongside and have a play with. He can be strong on his lead and would benefit from carrying on with practicing his loose lead walking using positive reward training. – We can guide you with this.
